Job DescriptionHeadway Environmental is hiring an Ecological Restoration Engineering Manager who has experience in the development and management of a distributed ecological restoration design team in various locations throughout the United States. The candidate must have extensive stream and wetland restoration design experience, and should have a strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and ArcGIS software and principles. The position will report to Headway's Director of Ecological Restoration Engineering.

The Ecological Restoration Engineering Manager will:
- Build, lead, and mentor a distributed team of engineers, scientists, and CADD technicians engaged in the assessment, planning, and design of leading-edge projects located throughout the country focused on watershed and ecosystem restoration and enhancement projects including projects focused on:
- CWA Section 404 mitigation (stream and wetland),
- fish passage or other habitat or species driven restoration and improvements,
- nature-based solutions (NBS) and green infrastructure for stormwater management, flood risk mitigation, and watershed resiliency, and
- living shorelines
- Oversee management of project managers, technical staff, and other resources to deliver projects on time and on budget while also achieving project revenue and staff utilization as necessary to grow the team and practice in line with corporate expectations
- Develop and maintain select, long-term client relationships toward continued and expanded project awards
- Manage the development and implementation of an engineering design and reporting quality control program in partnership with corporate QA/QC staff
- Manage the development and implementation of CADD design and production standards
- Manage the development and implementation of engineering reporting standards in cooperation with the Program Director
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree
- Professional Engineer (PE) Certification
- 10+ years of applied experience (post completion of Bachelor's degree)
- Completion of Rosgen NCD Levels I-IV, or equivalent
- Experience in developing stream restoration/natural channel design construction plans in the AutoCad Civil 3D environment
- Experience with AutoCad Civil 3D, HEC-HMS (or similar), HEC-RAS (or similar), Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel, and various other civil engineering software programs
Preferred Skills - Advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Geology/Fluvial Geomorphology, or related engineering degree
- Experience in advanced methods using Civil3D to develop 3D stream corridor restoration designs
- Ability to work independently and with Sr. Engineering Staff and multi-task regularly in a fast-paced environment with multiple changes; work under pressure & meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with mentoring and training others
